After King Miro and Randor returned from exile on Despondos, the Three Towers resurfaced—a sign that the Second Ultimate Battle was about to begin. To prepare for this battle, Hordak attacked the Central Tower to steal the secret of time travel. But without the Cosmic Key to channel the tower's energy, Hordak's body was altered: He developed a buzz-saw blaster that could blast any enemy from his chest. During their final battle, Skeletor magically drained Hordak of his essence, unlocking the secrets and power of the entire Horde Empire. But in Hordak's dying breath—surrounded and seemingly defenseless—a final buzz-saw attack was unleashed, targeting Skeletor. Had a nearby Bionotops not intervened, Skeletor would have died, and Hordak's revenge would have been complete.
